The Next Generation Project
You compose, we performAll information can be downloaded here.
What?
This is a call for student composers: Krashna wants to offer you the opportunity to have your music performed in public!
Krashna Musika members perform in Chamber Music concerts five times a year. A large variety of music is played, with a strong preference for 20th century pieces.
The organizers would now like to go one step forward, and play the music, that you, young composers of the 21st century, write.
The pieces only have to fulfil two requirements: they should be written for chamber music ensembles and last less than 10 minutes. The ensembles need approval from the board to be sure they are possible. For a list of available instruments, please see below.
Who?
DSMG Krashna Musika is the student music society from the TU Delft. Its choir and orchestra have been giving high level concerts in Delft, Rotterdam, Den Haag and abroad for the past 40 years.
Many of our members, both amateurs and conservatory students, are also specialised in chamber music. The concerts organized by Krashna give them the opportunity to perform in front of an enthusiastic audience.
When?
The concert will be held on March 1, 2009, in Delft.
You need to apply before October 15th and inform us what kind of ensemble you will be composing for and then send the music (in traditional notation) to Krashna Musika before November 1st.
How?
If you want to join the project, contact Alex Sautter at the board of Krashna (via contact, mails can be written in Dutch and English). You can ask him any further information you may wish to know! You will be asked to respect a few deadlines.
No fee will be asked from you. Krashna will take care of all the costs related to this project.
